For over 50 years, Pickles Auctions has been auctioning off vehicles across Australia. They are the nation’s leading valuation and auction specialist. Their business features live and online auctions for motor vehicles.

[AUSTRALIA, 01/07/2016] – Pickles Auctions sold more than 220,000 trucks, motor vehicles, earthmoving equipment and machinery in the last financial year. The gross turnover went beyond A$2.2 billion. Most of these items were available on Pickles Live – 35 percent of these went to online buyers.

They started in 1964 and now, with 20 branches in the country, they are Australia’s leading auction and valuation specialist. Currently, they offer more than 14,500 items every week at wholesale prices. Their product range includes motor vehicles, industrial equipment, recreational and general goods, as well as salvage cars and motorcycles.

Their clients include the Australian and state governments, insurance companies, non-profit organizations, fleet and lease companies, local councils and banks.

They also have different methods of auctioning these items off. They do onsite auctions, which are conducted nationwide, and the items for sale usually consist of machinery, trucks and earthmoving equipment. Other methods include fixed price selling, which does not require any haggling, bidding or pressure; valuation services; onsite vehicle registration and plates services; financing and warranties, as well as online and live auctions.

This is Pickles Auctions’ own innovative system, and the auctions last for a few days. This allows the bidders to input their maximum bidding amount at any time. The system then bids on their behalf, bidding up until they reach their limits and not go beyond it.

The advantage of the online auction is that customers need not watch the progress of the bidding because the system watches and bids for them.

Customers across Australia, even in remote areas, can bid on this public sale. Of course, the highest bidder gets the items. Anyone may participate anytime as long as the bidding is ongoing. Every month, there are more than 150 auctions to choose from. Last year, they sold more than 67,000 lots by using their live auction system.

Its difference from Pickles Online is that customers still have to download a software before they register and place their bids.
