David Gianulias is a winemaker and provider of spirits in California

As one of the three founding members of the Levendi Winery in Napa Valley, David Gianulias has much to celebrate over the last five years. Along with his father James Gianulias and business partner Todd Rustman, these three men have devoted their Mediterranean heritage to the creation of small batch wines in California.

In 2010, Levendi Winery received its first recognition through the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. That year, the winery received three silver medals and one bronze for the vintages that they entered into the competition. The submitted 2007 Red Hen Chardonnay was given the bronze medal, while the 2005 offerings of Sweetwater Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and Stagecoach Vineyard Syrah each took second place.

In 2011, through the San Francisco International Wine Competition, Levendi Winery won even more awards. This time, they achieved three bronze medals and a silver for various entrances to the competition. Notably, the 2006 Stagecoach Vineyard Syrah that was entered won the coveted Double Gold Medal of the competition. The following year David Gianulias and his co-founders entered more vintages into the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition where they received another Double Gold Medal for their 2009 Cold Creek Chardonnay.

2013 was a big year in the winemaking award world for Levendi Winery. Entering select vintages into both the Los Angeles International Wine Competition and the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the winery received seven distinct medals for seven unique vintages. One of their biggest achievements to date was the award of gold medals for both the 2007 Sweetwater Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2007 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

In 2014, the wines from Levendi Winery were graded by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and received top scores. The 2009 Sweetwater Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon was scored at ninety-two, the 2010 Sweeney Ranch Chardonnay received a score of ninety-three, and the 2008 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon earned a score of ninety-four. These well respected scores were accompanied by a number of additional medals through the same competitions entered in previous years, as well as the Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition. Since that time, David Gianulias and his winery have received more medals and higher grades.
