The first thing that pops into your mind as you think of Italian food is certainly pizza. Pasta will be another popular food coming from this culture’s cuisine. And there are many other foods you can associate with the Italian culture. We all love this country’s food because of its richness, its diversity, its aroma and its taste.

Anyone who’s traveled to Italy or at least had the chance to spend some time with Italians will recognize their expansive and flamboyant personalities, characteristics which somehow seem to transfer in their cuisine as well. Italian food is incredibly diverse, and very few cultures throughout the world can take pride in their cuisines such as Italians do. Italian food is appreciated and loved throughout the globe, and some foods like pizza or pasta have become so famous that all countries have added them in their menus. Pasta, for example, is a traditional Italian food that is very easy to prepare; most Italians eat pasta at least once a week, seasoned with different sauces and spices. Plus, the great advantage of this type of food is the fact that it takes very little time to cook, usually no more than half an hour! Bye-bye fast-food and welcome Italian food!

Traditional Italian food is not only delicious and rich, but also very healthy, thanks to the fresh and natural ingredients which are used in the cooking process. The seasoning is most important in cooking traditional Italian food. There are countless recipes for tasty sauces, and fresh herbs are always used in preparing meals. This means that this type of food is very healthy, since it combines all types of alimentary products to create balanced meals. We all know that it is very important to diversify our nutrition and eat fruits and fresh vegetables and herbs along with heavier foods. Salads, for example, are always present in any true Italian’s meal. It’s no wonder that Italians have such long lives: they regularly eat healthy foods and they have an impeccable meal program. To have a long and healthy life, it’s imperative to respect eating times, and Italians certainly do so. All shops are closed during lunch times in Italy, and this self-respect and care is certainly a contributing factor in the longevity of this people.

Italian food is easy to prepare, it’s delicious and it’s consistent, but you need to have fresh, quality ingredients to really get that full aroma and taste of traditional Italian food. Fresh prosciutto and parmesan can be bought online at specialized stores. Also, suppliers are offering all sorts of traditional sauces, from the simple basil and tomato sauce to amatriciana (another popular sauce made out of bacon and tomato). You can prepare these sauces at home if you want, but it’s much easier to buy them from Italian suppliers. Online you will find suppliers who deliver natural Italian foods and ingredients that will be perfect in preparing a truly traditional Italian meal.
