Shopping for clothes in real stores is obsolete. Stores offering to buy clothes online are the future, and the present for those with enough guile and enterprising spirit to set up one, or at least to buy clothing online. Pretty much every person with Internet access browsed an online store at one or another point in their life. Not everyone, however, bought something. Even less people ventured to buy clothing online, even though shopping for clothes online is objectively cheaper, faster, and more convenient that buying them offline. So why do people still prefer going to real, non-virtual stores? There are two reasons behind this. First, buying clothes online seems to be less reliable and risker than getting them offline. Second, where is the guarantee that when purchasing clothing online, what you bought will fit? Frankly, these questions are outdated. There is no reason not to buy clothes online anymore, and here’s why.

First, let’s look at the first perceived issues of buying clothing online – reliability and risk. This problem was very important at the dawn of the Internet shopping era. You never knew where your credit card info went, or if the person on the other end was a honest merchant, and not a conman. Not getting your purchase was an expected result when buying clothes online back in the day. And getting a lower-quality garment was a common problem with buying clothing online, too. What had changed since then? Everything.

These days the legislation is more up to date, and those buying from online stores are just as protected as those buying from real life stores. Security everywhere had increased, and you no longer have to worry about getting a knock off instead of what you ordered, or getting your credit card details stolen. In fact, it’s riskier to use a simple ATM now as compared to doing purchases online. And that’s not all. Many online clothes boutiques offer great return policies, and if you somehow do receive an unsatisfactory garment, you can return it just as easily as you purchased it, nullifying any issues associated with risky purchasing. Simply said, modern online stores selling clothes are just as dependable as offline stores offering same services. Just make sure the store you are buying from is legit, and you are set.

The other issue is the fit of the clothing bought online. Let’s be clear here. It can still be a problem. Yet nowadays it’s almost not an issue anymore. Most of the times, you can return the item that didn’t fit for a refund or for another garment of more appropriate dimensions. And considering you typically will find a broader array of garments at lower prices in an online store, waiting for the item to arrive and sending it back to get a new one is well worth the time. You don’t have to risk it, though. No one prevents you from taking your own measurements and sending them to the online store along with your order to ensure you get the exact fit.
