Daniel Greer is the rabbi with the golden heart. He not only does his best to improve the life of the community as a whole but also encourages the young people to learn about their roots and follow the Jewish way to life.

The Synagogue, Yeshiva of New Haven is fulfilling this dream of the rabbi. He encourages the congregants to improve the knowledge of Torah and inherent values that it teaches. The hallmark of Rabbi’s achievements is facilitating community religious observance.
Through the years, the Rabbi has done much for the orthodox Jewish community in the New Haven area. An early achievement was the establishment of bus express route to connect Boro Park and Wiliamsburg neighbourhoods. Today, these express routes to connect the Jewish neighbourhoods have turned into a routine affair but the work of the rabbi at the time was a vital step forward that opened the opportunities for the subsequent developments.
At that time Greer was the member of John Lindsay administration, the then mayor of New York. He was one of the key players in the promotion of the bus express route. The inauguration was on 24th October, 1969. While making his announcement for the new route, Lindsay said that he is pleased that the numerous residents of the communities with the strongest ties and bonds in Williamsburg and Boro Park could avail this transportation mode. This bus service became the first of its kind in a number of ways. The service was not available after Friday sundown and throughout Saturday due to Sabbath. This instituted the first and the only bus service in the nation with Sabbath Observant schedule.
Far back in 1969 both the route and the Sabbath oriented service of the bus was a stunning achievement sealing the place of the Rabbi in the minds and the hearts of the community he served with such dedication. Not one to rest on his laurels he is constantly working towards the betterment of the community and the improvement of the living standards of the people.
A strong believer in teamwork, Daniel Greer encourages the congregants at Synagogue Yeshiva of New Haven to remain as active as possible in the affairs of the local community as well as in Jewish community throughout the United States.
