Everything is turning intelligent nowadays. I-things are plenty all around, from your phone and TV to your watch. This sparked the idea of Seiko Astron. It’s a watch that understands time. And the various time zones. The seiko titanium watches is built to interpret time in totally precise manner, anywhere on the planet and while on the move.

Seiko’s micro-engineering skills packaged three technologies into one – in a watch housing Seiko’s advanced IC circuitry that divides the earth into a hundred thousand squares, placing each of them in separate time zones. The GPS receiver inside is Seiko’s in-house production requiring less energy to function. It receives GPS signals and identifies all 39 time zones and all the related data. It’s a breakthrough timepiece, nothing short of the intensity of its 1969 predecessor. The quartz, since then, has come a long way and this new-age timekeeping technology is another milestone in horological history. Accurate time (+1sec/100,000 years) is now possible anywhere on the earth.

The default is once-a-day, but you may sync it manually as many times you like. The watch will connect to multiple (usually 4) orbiting GPS satellites that will position and identify the time zone. The watch will set itself to the exact time at that location. So will the seiko premier watches till its February, 2100.

The Atomic Clock precision is matched to solar power, so the seiko perpetual calendar watch Astron never needs a battery. It ensures the factory seal will run many years. The case is high-intensity Titanium, which is as light as it is robust. It’s topped with a ceramic bezel and the combo holds better than stainless steel. It’s also 60% lighter.

There are a total of 5 models, three in high-intensity titanium and two in stainless steel. It’s the building material that differs, functions and specifications are the same. Some are:

1. A dual-time sub-dial.
2. In-flight mode indicator.
3. Sapphire glass with Super-Clear anti-reflective coating.

Let’s now talk on what it does. It displays rich information more than just traditional date and dual-time display. It indicates the status of GPS signals (with the seconds-hand and indicator) at the push of a button. It will also adjust to Daylight Saving Time. It’s the sheer joy of intelligent company. And that’s within six seconds of when you desire.
