There are many types of materials used for flooring and platforms across many different industries, not all provide a non-slip surface. Steel, Aluminium and wood are common traditional building materials, but fail to offer the same performance as FRP products.

The use of these traditional materials can increase the risk of a slip and fall. Leading to potential injury and lost time. FRP grating and handrail systems offer greater safety for any industry.

FRP grating is available in a range of mesh sizes and non-slip finishes that can be tailored to most applications.

The moulded grating is resistant to chemicals and corrosion and is suitable for immersion in water/sea water.

They are available in a standard RAL range of safety yellow, green, charcoal and light grey. Custom colours are available from the RAL colour range, subject to lead time.

All Composite Engineering moulded gratings carry a flame-spread index (rating) of 25 or less when tested in accordance with the ASTM E-84 standard, while also meeting the ASTM D-635 extinguishing requirements.

Composite Engineering’s FRP Handrails offer the same resistance to harsh environments as our FRP grating.

These advanced systems are designed and manufactured to be easily installed. FRP Handrail components are lightweight and easy to fabricate on-site. Savings on labour and equipment often make the total installed cost comparable to that of galvanized steel.

As with all our FRP products, the ladders offer outstanding resistance to harsh chemical environments. We design each ladder to conform with the Australian Standard AS1657-2018.

We ensure that landings, ladder cages and walkthroughs are provided when needed and bespoke design all our ladders fit into the space where they are installed.

The grating, handrails and ladders can be combined for walkways and access platforms producing safe bespoke installation and comply with the highest standards.

On top of the safety aspect of FRP products there are numerous other advantages including:

Lightweight – Making installation easier and on many occasions faster. Specialist tools are also not required and can be fabricated using standard tools.

Low Maintenance – Unlike traditional materials that require repainting or coating, FRP products will be looking great year after year.

Low Lifecycle Cost – With easier installation, low maintenance and long service life the overall lifecycle cost is significantly lower than with similar steel or aluminium constructions.

It is time to start thinking safety – FRP the safe choice.
