CMS offer an online structured training course delivered through our own cloud based commercial management software, we e-mail weekly assignments to our students who then login to the system using their home or work internet connection, (fitting in entirely around existing work or learning commitments); they then administer their own contracts using the training platform followingthe guidance material provided, giving them first-hand experience of real life scenarios and problems, faced within the construction industry.

One problem with university degree courses is that the units covered do not always accurately reflect the actual work required by graduate Quantity Surveyors or other commercial professionals entering a contracting organization.
Our course is designed towards individuals who typically fall into the following categories: -

(a) Graduate Quantity Surveyors, Graduate Cost Managers or Commercial Managers with no ‘hands on’ experience managing projects, rendering their subsequent pursuit for an employer difficult.

(b) Individuals wishing to make a career change into Quantity Surveying whereby they have already obtained a degree and experience within another industry, and they consider their skills may be easily transferrable. I.e. finance, economics, law, property background etc.

(c) Seasoned construction industry professionals who need experience on the commercial aspects of managing projects I.e. contract managers, project managers and site managers who sometimes need to understand more about what a Quantity Surveyor is actually required to do, in order to better manage the process and their team.

The course is structured from the point of contract award through to final account, and cover all primary post contract eventualities Quantity Surveyors working on the Contracting side will be required to deliver, primary course units include: -

(a) Project Setup
(b) Contract Management
(c) Change Management
(d) Interim valuations
(e) Cost, Value Reconciliations
(f) Financial Reporting
(g) Final Accounting

This 12-month course is only £99.00 per month payablemonthly via debit or credit card, upon signing up students will receive their first assignment within 3 days of first payment.
