Colette Prevost – Committed to Change the Social Service Landscape

This press release is written to announce to readers that Colette Prevost is a well-known name in the leadership and administration of social services.

 
Whether it’s about child welfare, human rights or gender equity, Colette Prevost is always there to stand with what’s right. She is a social worker by training, who has worked with many non‐profit organizations in the areas of policy development, board governance, organizational restructuring, and staff training. She has worked in Northern Ontario for social services and mental health services’ development and management.

She has served as a sessional faculty member at Nipissing University and at Laurentian University. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work in 1987 from Laurentian University, and her Master of Social Work in 1988 from Wilfrid Laurier University. She was honored by Laurentian University for her contribution to advancing the interests of women in the community. In addition, she was entrusted with an honorary eagle feather by the First Nations of Territory 3 in Ontario.

Colette Prevost has done work in various areas, ranging from direct intervention, advocacy, coalition building to administration. She is known for her leadership skills and her organizational vision. And, she is committed to advancing the rights of individuals through equity building leadership.

This is the reason why she has become a leader in the administration of social services in the area.

Colette Prevost has been a recognized name in the sector of child welfare, and women’s equity. She also is committed to advancing the interests of First Nations communities in Ontario. A strong advocate and defender of human rights, she has been committed to advancing the interests of women, children and the rights of individuals in the community. She has worked with Sudbury Family Service, Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing, Centre Nipissing General Hospital, and YWCA Sudbury. She is currently engaged with Laurentian University, where she teaches on matters of leadership and administration in social services.
