Claudio Cerullo Presents Carmela Cerullo Anti-Bullying Community Award.

Claudio Cerullo has been in the education sector for over 20 years and has witnessed bullying and school violence-related issues. He is the founder of Teach Anti-Bullying, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises awareness on the issue of bullying in schools and communities. The organization was founded in 2011 and has been working closely with parents, teachers, school administrators and law enforcement. Apart from working to raise awareness on the issue of anti-bullying, the organization recognizes people who have made efforts to improve their communities through their own endeavors. To this end, the organization set up the Carmela Cerullo Anti-Bullying Community Award which provided people in the community to nominate anyone they felt deserved to receive this award in recognition of their good work done in the community.

The first Carmela Cerullo Anti-Bullying Community Award was awarded to Upper Darby Police Officer, Thomas Nee in 2015. Thomas Nee has been serving his community for thirty years and has been involved in anti-bullying education awareness. Claudio Cerullo said, “Officer Nee exemplified the character and value of bringing children and the community together”, and contacted Superintendent Chitwood to convey the news.

The award was presented to Thomas Nee on Thursday, July 23, 2015, in Council Chambers at the Upper Darby Township Building. Some of the esteemed guests who were present at the occasion included the Mayor of Upper Darby Thomas Micozzie, Superintendent Chitwood, Chief Administrative Officer, Thomas Judge, Jr., and Nee’s family among several other guests.

Through the organization, Claudio Cerullo has helped raise awareness on the issue of anti-bullying across the United States. He has become a strong vocal advocate for victims of bullying his organization is committed to providing support for families of victims of bullying. He is currently a principal of a high school in South New Jersey.
