Spokespeople from Capital Coloured Diamonds and the director, James Gagliardini, discuss the benefits of investing in coloured diamonds on the popular television program The Lang and O'Leary Exchange.

Amanda Lang is a CBC senior business correspondent and half of the team of Lang and O'Leary. Her co-anchor is investor and entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary. The team helps their audience navigate investing issues with a fast paced, clever rapport apparent between the two hosts. The Lang and O'Leary Exchange can be viewed on CBC Television and the CBC News Network. Recently, James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds was invited to join the hosts in order to discuss the benefits of investing in rare coloured diamonds.

James Gagliardini, the director of Capital Coloured Diamonds, explained in the interview that coloured diamonds are a great way to diversify your investment portfolio. Coloured diamonds, according to James Gagliardini of Capitol Coloured Diamonds, are currently seeing a better appreciation than either stocks or bonds. "Part of the appeal of coloured diamonds is their uncommonness. Coloured diamonds are among the rarest elements on earth," noted James Gagliardin. James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds explained that the key to seeing the greatest return on your coloured diamond investment is the longevity of the investment. Coloured diamonds are so rare that supply cannot possibly meet demand and this increases the desirability and price of coloured diamonds. James Gagliardini notes that only thirty-three red diamonds have been found since 1984.

James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds gave some sound advice regarding the best types of coloured diamonds in which to invest. Investment quality coloured diamonds should have a saturation rating of seven to nine. According to James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds, a rating of seven means intense, eight stands for deep, and nine translates to vivid. This is the range of quality that investors should search for in order to see the best return on their coloured diamond investment.

James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds explain that most rare yellow diamonds come from South Africa. Rare pink diamonds have been discovered in an Australian mine. The Argyle Mine in Australia produces over 90% of the world's known pink diamonds. The mine is depleting and is scheduled to close between 2016 and 2018 according to the Capital Coloured Diamond representative.

James Gagliardini from Capital Coloured Diamonds explains that when an investor is ready to sell a coloured diamond there are a variety of options. Many investors choose to sell their coloured diamond through an auction in which case a sales fee is added into the sale reserve amount. Capital Coloured Diamonds is also able to purchase diamonds on behalf of their 3,000 clients. If Capital Coloured Diamonds handles the transaction a 4% fee is added.

Capital Coloured Diamonds is a great resource for investors looking to add coloured diamonds to their investment portfolio.
