Are you bored of the same old 25th December experience? Every year is the same, right? You wake up, open presents, watch some TV (definitely NOT the Queen’s speech but possibly the EastEnders Christmas special, where at least three people die because a wedding goes horribly wrong), eat a dry turkey without enough gravy to go around, scoff a couple of mince pies and then watch some more TV. Do you look more like The Royale Family, instead of watching the royal family with so much turkey and TV that you can’t even move from the sofa?

It sounds like you could do with something a bit different this year. Here are a few ways to have a jolly holiday this December…
1) Temperature Trade-in

Forget walking carefully to the car because you might slip on the ice, run around in the hot sun instead! Australia is having its summer right now, and it’s sweltering over there! Forget the scarves and chunky knits and pack your bags with swim suits and summer dresses. Who needs to roast chestnuts when you can just work on cooking your skin to a healthy golden-brown?

2) Christmas in the Country

Sometimes the hustle and bustle of yule tide madness can become overwhelmingly materialistic. So much so that we forget about what truly matters – a day where the kids are kept busy all day long with presents so you can have five minutes peace…I mean…family and togetherness…(but without the kids). Take a trip to the country, rent a cottage, and a spend Christmas traditionally – no TV, no games consoles, and no computers. Forget train fares though because your entire budget will be blown on tickets – drive if possible. Your boss might even be nice enough to lend you the company car lease for a week whilst no one is using it!

3) Christmas Dinner Done!

Christmas shouldn’t always be about spending all day in the house – there are hundreds of restaurants open who cater for big parties of people. So why not ditch the doomed turkey and the mountain of washing up and just eat out this year? It’s a great way to avoid stress and keep the family together in one place
