NEW ORLEANS, La. - Limousine Livery, the premiere transportation service in the New Orleans area, proudly accepted recognition as one of the Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuel Partnership’s “Clean Fleet Leaders” at the Regional Planning Commission’s (RPC’s) annual awards ceremony May 8, 2012.

In 2011, the locally owned and operated organization transitioned a portion of their fleet to propane. The modification displaces the equivalent of 740 gallons of gasoline and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 1.5 tons annually.

“We intend to build on this success by continuing to transition our entire fleet to propane,” said owner Christy Dirks “We have further set ourselves apart from traditional transportation services by recently attaching a device to the exhaust system of our gasoline and diesel fueled vehicles that reduces C02 emissions.”

Limousine Livery was acknowledged along with several other local businesses that employed alternative fuels or fuel saving technology and/or policies in their operation in 2011. Overall, “Clean Fleet Leaders” displaced the equivalent of 586,312 gallons of gasoline and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 2,975 tons.
