Eberhard & Co.’s adventure in the fascinating world of classic cars is enriched by a new prestigious collaboration

Eberhard & Co.’s adventure in the fascinating world of classic cars is enriched by a new prestigious collaboration thanks to Corrado Lopresto who has joined the universe of the Brand’s ambassadors.

The Swiss watchmaker has for a long time been sponsoring some of the most important international competitions and their protagonists, since the Brand identified the old-timers’ world as indeed full of values matching those of luxury watch making: a passion for technique, the importance of tradition, the value of the historical heritage of companies that, like Eberhard & Co., can boast a history well over a century long. Corrado Lopresto, architect and entrepreneur from Milan and a collector of classic cars, is one of this universe’s celebrities, thanks to his unmatched collection and to a record of more than 200 awards and 50 Best in Show, including the record achievement of four Coppa d’Oro trophies at the “Concours d’Elegance at Villa D’Este”, the most important in Europe.

Mr. Lopresto focused his collection on rare cars, prototypes and unique pieces from Italian constructors. A curiosity: he is especially keen on finding cars with the frame identification number 0001.

This unique collection could not just be limited to the international events of the sector’s calendar. Hence the idea of organizing a Lopresto Day every year: the event, launched in 2013, has already become a winter classic.

To mention just a few cars from Corrado Lopresto’s collection is not easy, so we will just list those that were mostly awarded in 2014: there are an Alfa Romeo 1750 GS Aprile and an Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Freccia d’Oro which participated in the 1950 Carrera Panamericana race, the prototype Stratos II by Stola and one of the new entries, thanks to which Lopresto may well be considered one of the most important collectors in the world, that is a 1934 Lancia Augusta Stabilimenti Farina. This car is in perfect conditions, with original paint and interiors and can boast a fascinating and well-documented history.

The appointment that launched the partnership between the popular collector and the Maison has been the 2015 Salon Rétromobile edition, an event not to be missed for connoisseurs who gathered in Paris from all over the world on February 4th- 8th.
Corrado Lopresto, who exhibited 12 of his masterpieces selected for the occasion, was the exceptional interpreter of the presentation of the new Tazio Nuvolari Automatic, the latest creation in a timepieces collection dedicated by Eberhard & Co. to the greatest racing driver in history.

Corrado Lopresto, Tazio Nuvolari and Eberhard & Co.: great names joined by a common passion for challenge and the eternal quest for perfection.

Eberhard & Co. presents Tazio Nuvolari Automatic Three-Hands

The Tazio Nuvolari collection, dedicated to the all time legend of motor sport and an expression of the historical bond of Eberhard & Co. with the world of vintage cars, is enriched with a “time-only” model, presented in a special preview on September 19th, 2014 on the occasion of the prestigious Gran Premio Nuvolari. Eberhard & Co. is sponsor and official time-keeper of the event.

The new Tazio Nuvolari is an automatic timepiece with stainless steel case (ø 42.50 mm) and a distinctly sporty look, proposed with black dial with a “perlée " zone hosting 12 luminescent Arabic numerals profiled in red. The central seconds hand is also red, as well as the driver's signature and the initials "TN" in the white carapace situated on the opaque black central zone. The steel bezel is characterised by a steel circular insert treated in PVD, with relief indexes. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the new Tazio Nuvolari has a caseback fixed by 8 screws, with a “perlée” finish on the outer zone, personalised with an engraving of the Mantua pilot's signature. The model is available with black alligator strap and red stitching or with “Charme” steel bracelet.
