What I love about Chinese language is that it is available in two varieties - Cantonese and Mandarin dialects such as food, language could be the mark of national distinction.

Despite the Cantonese language is something I am employed to, Mandarin is the dialect that we have started learning lately because of my pleasure as an ethnic Oriental.

Both dialects are usually initially a challenge to learn, and being a traditional western born Chinese, Oriental is something I had overlooked in my upbringing. due to the fact being brought up in the west with parents which do not necessarily teach you to talk in your mother tongue, it's not hard to lose your cultural tongue very quickly.

You can find major differences involving Cantonese and Mandarin dialects, similar to the differences in culture.

Cantonese can be sharper, and has 9 tones. Mandarin is more even-sounding and contains four tones, making it the easier of the two to master.

However as my own childhood I was conditioned to speak the Cantonese dialect, I have recently somehow being able to subconsciously remember certain Cantonese words in which my mother employed to speak to me after i was a child including:

'Chih seen!' - crazy

'Ney Hoh' - you okay?

'Ley Tse m Tse ah' - you know or not know?

'Doh Tzay'- thank you

However since constantly practicing my Cantonese recently, I have found myself emulating the tones regarding both dialects very easily. I remember once when in China with our mainlander friend, he said that my tonal employ was instinctively more Cantonese than Mandarin.

Which can make sense because it's my personal mother that speaks Cantonese as she was raised in Hong Kong. Although i really do find Mandarin easier and simpler.

So with this ongoing confusion and backwards and forwards indecisiveness of which dialect to master, i finally made a decision that it's best We entertain the idea of understanding the main Chinese dialect that is best for business and culture, and best to learn Mandarin.

Furthermore apart from business reasons, I actually prefer the people and weather with the north of Tiongkok in comparison to the south involving China, therefore it makes sense that I should emphasis my time on understanding the Mandarin dialect.

However possessing found an easy to learn Chinese language website that can help me with this, In my opinion with persistence along with dedication, I will eventually be able to speak each dialects in order to complete my goal of being a new 'complete' Chinese!
