Birla Academy of Art & Culture Organizes the Resurgence Exhibition

Birla Academy of Art & Culturehas organized the resurgence exhibition for paying homage to Indian artists and their craftsmanship, reviving Indian textiles.

 
On the global scale, India is reminiscent of a rich, exotic culture and its vast artistic calibre that has been showcased for centuries by the talented and creative painters, sculptors and other ace artists. Birla Academy of Art and Culture recently in order to pay tribute to Indian artists and their craftsmanship is organizing one of its most fascinating exhibition named “Resurgence- Revival of Indian Embroideries and textiles” that showcases some of the best works on embroidery and textiles done in many traditional styles and also comprises of the unique Parsi style embroidery.

“Each of our exhibitions is arranged in a manner that it depicts a specific theme. For instance, our Resurgence- Revival of Indian Embroideries and textiles highlights the hard work and the creativity mind work that goes into making the Indian embroidery and textile design work so fascinating. This comprised of a varied collection of work by Indian artists such as the Ajrak with Asri embroidery, bandhni with aariembroidery, Kalamkari with aari embroidery and many more.” said a company spokesperson. Over the years Birla Academy of Art and Culture has earned the fame and reputation of being the most elegant art gallery that through its consistent efforts have created a benchmark of its own.

Speaking on the uniqueness of the exhibition the spokesperson further added that, “Resurgence- Revival of Indian Embroideries and Textiles also brings forth some of the distinctive work such as the traditional Parsi pattern embroidery, Navkar Mantra on Bandhani, the Mata niPachedi with Aari embroidery. That aside there would be saree’s put on sale. That apart, there’s also going to be stoles and dupatta’s on sale as well priced between Rs. 5,500 to Rs.23000 and Rs.11, 000 to 62000 respectively. Therefore, the art lovers can view and also take home what appeals most to them. Other than these the exhibition will also be showcasing the best traditional Indian Sharara Set in multiple colours along with embroidered Indian Ajrak jackets”.

The Resurgence- Revival of Indian Embroideries and Textiles will be on until the 22nd of May 2016, taking place between 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the art gallery unit in Kolkata. It will be curated by AsifShaik and the event will not be held during any public holidays or Mondays till May 22nd 2016.
