Binyamin Rothstein Chooses Osteopathy Medical Training, Practices in Baltimore and Israel, Embraces Western and Alternative Medicine as Military Physician Researcher

Binyamin Rothstein was a young man in Baltimore, Maryland when he first encountered a form of medical care that did not involve drugs or surgeries, called Osteopathy. After observing an osteopathic physician work with patients to relieve their pain and suffering through manipulating joints and bones, Rothstein felt he had found a path of helping his fellow man which he could enthusiastically follow. In the United States, osteopathic physicians, or D.O.’s, are fully licensed medical doctors in all 50 states, and are recognized as such in 65 other countries. Founded by a frontier physician, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the profession of osteopathy grew from a form of medical thought in the 19th century to full-fledged osteopathic medical physician professionals who utilize modern public health and biomedical principles.

Dr. Binyamin Rothstein is looking forward to establishing a practice in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to continue with his35-year experience providing osteopathic care to his patients. He is returning to the United States from Israel where he has two successful practices currently, in Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem. Dr. Rothstein’s many years of private practice in Baltimore prior to his work in Israel yielded countless accolades and devoted patients. His philosophy in caring for patients embraces Western and alternative medicine.

“There is no one perfect system of healing. Sometimes, especially in acute situations, the Western medical approach is necessary, but what I strive to do is find the cause of the symptoms and then treat the cause, which will alleviate the symptoms. The toughest part of being a real physician is to know when to use what and knowing what is available in the best interests of our patients.,” Dr. Binyamin Rothstein explained. “Osteopathic philosophy is really all about enabling the person’s body to heal itself by creating balance, primarily by using the ten fingers of our hands, and using our mind’s eye and our heart to understand, to feel, to palpate, to treat and to balance. .”

Dr. Binyamin Rothstein interned in New York at Hillcrest General Hospital then served as a physician in the United States Medical Corps at Fort Detrick, Maryland, in the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases.
