The former prison-turned historical attraction, Bodmin Jail, allows its visitors to undergo a different kind of prison experience with its all-night Haunted Prison Tour.

[Bodmin, 14/13/2018] - Bodmin Jail, the UK’s ‘Most Haunted Venue’ is opening its bars after dark with their Haunted Prison Tour. The tour, which opens at 8.45 pm and ends at 5 am, incorporates supernatural themes and allows visitors to learn more about the prison’s history.

Paranormal Activity

The prison, which was established in 1779, has had a long and brutal history. Prisoners were kept in poor, squalid conditions and were rarely given sunlight or adequate food. Moreover, over fifty prisoners have been executed through Bodmin’s 230-year long history. According to Bodmin’s website, the jail has accumulated two centuries’ worth of negative energy, turning it into the perfect breeding ground for restless, tortured spirits.

The tour

The tour costs £80.00 and is an all-night affair, with visitors being introduced to each other before being led through the jail. The guides will conduct workshops throughout the night, and visitors can also interact with the ‘ghosts’ inside the cells.

The tour package includes the following:

● 3 course meal
● Signed certificate
● Voucher for discount on return visits
● Unlimited tea and coffee

Tea and coffee are available throughout the night, served at various stations throughout the tour. For its meals, Bodmin locally sources its ingredients from trusted suppliers. Customers with food allergies are advised to inform the tour guides, as dishes may contain ingredients not specified in the menu. Excessive consumption of alcohol is prohibited, and visitors are not permitted to bring their own alcohol.

In order to avoid health complications, visitors are asked to inform the organisers of any pre-existing health conditions or disabilities. Pregnant women are advised to seek approval from their GP certifying that they are well enough to attend. They may reserve a slot while waiting for their letter or medical certificate from their GP.
