You might have heard about the Six Sigma training programs. There are many accredited organizations these days who offer 6 Sigma certification to the candidates. These candidates are mainly the employees of a company who enroll themselves for Six Sigma training programs. The certificates can be achieved only when an individual has proved his or her competency in the subject. It is basically a physical proof, signifying that the individual has the capability of implementing quality management techniques in the production process. However, there are some Six Sigma Certification standards that are followed before awarding the certificate to an individual.

6 Sigma Certification Standards

The certification is given to a person who has studied relevant materials and has passed an examination. The institutions who provide these certifications offer training courses and conduct examinations required. The first part is the written examination. After qualifying the first round, the candidates will need to appear for a practical testing of their abilities. Herein, they are given small projects to handle under the supervision of the master Green Belt or Black Belt certified trainer. Through this project, they should demonstrate their competency in utilizing the knowledge they have acquired during the Six Sigma training procedure.

However, the practical aspect is defined by the enterprises. The practical testing is conducted depending on one or more project. Well, there is no set standard regarding passing or failing the exam. Also, it is not determined by the company. It is the Six Sigma organization who decides whether the candidate is capable of receiving a certificate or not.

The Six Sigma or LSS Accreditation standards are designed to ensure that the certificated awarded to the candidates has due value and further help in improving the company’s financial structure. The Six Sigma training and certification procedure is conducted by a team of professionals who are designated to impart knowledge within the candidates.

However, no global standard is involved in the certification. All you need to do is follow the steps explained above. One of the key features of Six Sigma certification is that the holder can used this certificate to bag a new job and hold it with himself or herself unless a new training is conducted in the new company.

The Six Sigma certification process is set to make sure that the holder can demonstrate his/her worth and proficiency in business management. Three types of Six Sigma certificates are awarded, which includes, Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt certificate. The one who receives Black Belt 6 Sigma certificate gets to lead a project and divide task amongst the team members.

The Green Belt certificate holders are mainly assigned to look after a company’s concerning issues and suggest a solution to that. On the other hand, the Yellow Belt certificate is given to those who can provide assistance in information gathering and providing profitable results to the company. While looking for a Six Sigma organisation, ensure that it is accredited as that will add value to the certificate you will be receiving.
