Another trend is that the division between private and public clouds would become murkier. The drive is favoring hybrid platforms. Traditionally, clients only had the choice between private and public platforms but this is no longer the case. More giants in the industry are rolling out hybrid platforms. Here we have names like Amazon, IBM and Microsoft who are all involved in the development and marketing of this solution.

Lastly, O’Sullivan also mentions that AI would have a much more prominent role to play in cloud platforms in the new year. The role of AI is becoming hard to ignore in every field and it is only realistic to expect that it will have a major impact when it comes to cloud platforms. This influence is also due to the accessibility that is possible when cloud platforms are utilized for machine learning.
