Aaron School, a private Manhattan school for children with learning challenges, hosts its summer camp; Camp Green Tree in the summer of 2015.

 
New York, NY 18th April, 2015: Aaron School, a private special education school in Manhattan, NYC will host a summer camp; Camp Green Tree from June 29th through August 7th, 2015. Current, potential and non-Aaron School students are welcome to enroll for this exciting camp program. The camp will be hosted at the Elementary and Middle School campus located on 45th street in Manhattan. Children ages 4-11 are welcome to enroll for camp sessions lasting 2, 4 or 6 weeks. The camp will be held from Monday to Friday, 08:15 am to 02:30 pm, under the guidance of certified staff and education professionals.
Aaron School is a K-12 school providing special education services to children with reading, writing, math, attention, social and/or sensory challenges. The school’s curriculum is in alignment with the New York State Learning Standards and aims at providing integrated academic, enrichment and therapeutic services to its students.
Camp Green Tree is aimed at reinforcing academic skills taught to children over the year and offer recreational as well as optional and customizable therapeutic services. The camp will be led over three sessions spread across the summer months.

According to a representative from the school - “Our camp offers a plethora of benefits to the participants, including several special education services that involve the reinforcement of not just academic skills but also social skills and pragmatics to help enable children to communicate better and assert themselves.
We expect to see kids come out of this camp feeling positive and more confident than ever before. The recreational activities offered are bound to make this a memorable time for everyone involved.”
Session one called ‘Let’s Go Camping’ will be conducted from June 29th to July 10th, 2015 and is aimed at introducing children to the experience of camping through play and crafts. As part of this session, children will be taken on a mock camping trip to Central Park. Session two called ‘Wheels In Motion’ will be hosted from July 13th to July 24th, 2015 and will involve learning about different modes of transportation. The third and last session called “Once Upon a Story” will be conducted from July 27th to August 7th and will embark upon the exploration of children’s literature and the creation of a group story by the teachers and children to be published and presented at the end of the session.
Some of the highlights of the camp program include swimming sessions at YMCA and soccer classes by Super Soccer Stars. These activities will be run by guest professionals while being supervised by Camp Green Tree staff.
