Soldiers have stormed Chorkor in Accra. This comes after a video that is circulating showed residents of the community in large numbers enjoying themselves at the beach while the country is on lockdown.
You can watch the video as Chorkor resident party at the beach amidst coronavirus lockdown HERE if you missed.
The act of the people of Chorkor appears to be that they disregarded President Nana AkufoAddo’s lockdown directives to chill at the beach on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.

In spite of the partial lockdown which Ghana is observing in order to avoid the further spread of Covid-19, these residents took the laws into their hands and went out.
Some soldiers stormed the community beach in their numbers and sacked the people who were breaking the law.
In a way to ensure that no unauthorized person comes in or goes out, the armed military personnel later mounted barriers at various junctions.
Upon seeing the military, drivers and motor riders had to change their routes quickly.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has also issued a press release to inform Ghanaians that gathering at any beach in Ghana amounts to an offense.
They have cautioned citizens to abide by the directive and stay home to help the country fight the virus.

The confirmed cases of Coronavirus is 566.
