In this era where there are very less written data, huge amounts of valuable data are stored in servers and storage devices. Data storage and data backup have been considered with utmost importance with new inventions being done to improve the quality and durability of the stored data. Multinational companies have a multitude of data and they have to rely on external data services like the ones proved by www.datarecoveryinmalaysia.com where different levels of data storage solutions and recovery methods are provided to customers to make sure that any valuable data is not lost.

The location to store data has a major matter of concern when there is huge of data to be stored and backup saved. External services like data recovery Malaysia services provide external backup to huge servers maintained in optimal conditions. Yet the need for better storage has been recognized and highly researched. The latest invention of heat assisted storage to increase storage capacity of the hard disks is projected to be a major breakthrough in the field and is expected pave way for space efficient storage.

The research has been conducted in TU Wien in Austria that claims to be able to store ten times more data into a hard disk with the technique. The reports have been published in applied Physics Journal recently with all the findings. The amount of data that can be stored into a square inch can be raised to 13.23 terabits with this method that makes use of laser beam and a magnetic field to have a targeted delivery of the data. This is compared to the current capacity of 1.34 terabits per square inch in hard drives and 12.5 gigabits in Blu-ray disk.

The magnetic grains used to store data are too small and this limitation makes it vulnerable to data loss by drift in magnetic field. The challenge faced was to decrease the external intervention to improve data storage. The scientists used heating and isolation with laser beams to make them cut off from the magnetic field and thus the field is lowered. This makes it possible to write data into the single minute grain without affecting the nearby grains.
