Australia
One of the world's most noteworthy rail ventures, the Ghan navigates Australia's vast and open spaces. It goes from the South Australian slopes and fields to the tropical greens. On the way, you will discover the popular outback towns of Alice Springs and Katherine. With the Ghan expedition of 2 days and three nights, it is the perfect tour to explore.
Day 1: Adelaide and the outback
After boarding The Ghan in Adelaide at twelve, you can lay back and enjoy lunch as you observe Adelaide's magnificent, peaceful lands. First, it will pass through the coastal Coonamia and Harbour Augusta. Next, you will be crossing the Dingo Fence – the world's longest fence, and then the train speeds through the station of Cadney Homestead, at the entrance to the Painted Desert. After that, you will get to see the provincial towns and endless tract of lands maintained by the nation's communities for a long time. Finally, observe the scenic sunset from the Sydney Perth train as you meet some companions over cocktails in the cosy lounge.
Day 2: The Northern Territory
The train halts at Marla in South Australia, which marks the beginning of the Oodnadatta Track at the early hours of dawn and travellers are served a light breakfast. After that, it crosses the Northern border, travelling through Kulgera and over the Finke River before arriving in Alice Springs at almost noon. Here, you will explore the Alice Springs Desert and the sceneries that The Ghan expedition navigates.
Day 3: Katherine to Darwin
The express then races through the town of Tennant Creek as you enjoy the breakfast. Next, it stops by the township of Katherine, where you can enjoy various Off Train Excursions. Post that, you can also enjoy a cruise journey in Nitmiluk National Park's Katherine Gorge. Lastly, board back for a late lunch enjoying the sceneries of the Northern rainforest.
