Giant Multi-National Corporation Bans Happiness in America

Amazon.com has banned happiness in the U.S. and Europe. They have banned a paperback book about happiness and, as a result, Americans and Europeans can’t buy it and can't read it.

Los Angeles, CA, September 04, 2013 -- These days people need all the happiness they can find. Yet, author Andrew Lawrence’s book, “The Happiness Transformation”, a self-help paperback book that teaches people how to be happy, has been banned by the giant retailer amazon.com, in the U.S. and Europe.

Why was it banned?

“The Happiness Transformation” reveals the author’s own secrets and insights on how to be happy, right now, today. The secrets and insights are based on the author’s unique and personal and professional life experience. Why was this happy how-to book banned by amazon? According to the author, “They said it was because the content ‘was freely available elsewhere’. This is not correct, as 98% of the contents of this book are my own unique experience and insights. The other 2% is the inclusion of legitimate happiness studies from Harvard University and the University of Michigan, including the ‘Happiness is contagious’ study and a list of the happiest countries in the world. Both of these studies were given full credit in the book and used only as legitimate support for the author’s unique viewpoints.”

This book banning also raises another, larger, issue. If no laws were broken, such as copyright infringement, why should the giant book retailor amazon.com refuse to carry “The Happiness Transformation”?  Because some information used in the book is freely available elsewhere? Today, thanks to the internet, what information is NOT freely and widely available? Based on the premise that written content is available elsewhere, there would perhaps be no need for ANY new nonfiction books, as nearly ALL the world’s information, on nearly every subject, is now freely available on the internet. Imagine, no new books on history, no new biographies of great people from the past, no new books about the Civil War, or finance, or politics, or religion. Or sex. According to their policy, Amazon.com would have to ban them all. Because the information on these and other subjects is widely and freely available on the internet. If new nonfiction books were written, on these and other subjects, would Amazon ban them?

In the meantime, as a result of his book being banned on amazon.com, for a limited time, the author is making it available - for FREE. Readers can download a free copy of “The Happiness Transformation” via the author’s blog, at http://Andrew-Lawrence.blogspot.com
