Vantage Travel To Launch Two New All-Suite Luxury Riverships, the RV Mekong Odyssey and the RV Irrawaddy Explorer, Showcasing Past and Present in the Heart of Indochina.

Boston, MA, September 27, 2013 -- Vantage Deluxe World Travel, a world-renowned tour operator celebrating 30 years of success in 2013, is proud to announce the addition of two new all-suite luxury river ships to its growing fleet, starting in September 2014. The new ships will be christened the RV Mekong Odyssey and the RV Irrawaddy Explorer, and Vantage Deluxe World Travel is now accepting reservations for river cruises departing September 2014.

Aboard the 230-foot, 68-passenger RV Mekong Odyssey, passengers will marvel at the sights and sounds of both ancient and modern Indochina as they cruise along the Mekong, the great river that flows through the former French colonies of Cambodia and Vietnam, past deep jungles and ancient temples of Angkor Wat to Vietnam’s bustling riverside villages. This vessel is more akin to a luxury private motor yacht than a giant cruise ship, reminiscent in design of the many French colonial-era manor homes that once lined the streets of old Saigon. With 34 spacious all-suite cabins starting at 255 square feet to 545 square feet, the RV Mekong Odyssey offers luxurious suite amenities and a host of complimentary services. The RV Mekong Odyssey will be deployed on Vantage’s Angkor Wat & the Mekong itinerary, which also includes deluxe exploration in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Aboard the 188-foot, 56-passenger RV Irrawaddy Explorer, passengers will explore the wonders of Burma’s largest river while traveling in deluxe style. All 28 spacious suites offer river views, air conditioning, plenty of storage and luxurious spa-like amenities. Onboard facilities include a sun deck, lounge and service bar, dining room and gallery. The RV Irrawaddy Explorer will be deployed on Vantage’s Burma & the Irrawaddy River: Cruising the Road to Mandalay itinerary, which calls at legendary (yet rarely seen) sites such as Bagan, Yangon (Rangoon), and Mandalay.

With Vantage Onboard Staff providing a 2-to-1 passenger to crew ratio aboard both new ships, guests will enjoy sophisticated, comfortable and elegant cruising through Indochina. Both small ships offer additional amenities to Premiere Suite and Junior Suite guests, such as daily butler service, shoe polishing and conditioning, complimentary spa treatments, laundry service and evening canapés. Both ships also offer complimentary excursion amenities/services, ranging from fresh fruit and hot beverages to shoe cleaning, cold towel services and a welcome drink upon return from excursions. As with most Vantage cruises, guests enjoy learning about the region’s rich heritage through cultural performances, educational talks, cooking classes and much more, enhanced by knowledgeable staff and local guides.

For foodies, both ships now feature an expert culinary staff who specialize in providing local menu items and Slow Food® Member entrée selections each evening at a seated dinner.

Exclusively chartered for Vantage travelers, these shallow draft riverships enable passengers to explore tiny villages, local markets, and hidden temples that larger vessels cannot access. Guests have the option of adding travel extensions to China, Thailand, or Laos, and will enjoy Vantage Cultural Connections and Learning Discoveries, including sightseeing tours and demonstrations, local interaction, and lectures.

Once on board, all passengers enjoy new interactive features, such as True Video on Demand, US TV channel access, in-room destination/cruise information and GPS tracking of your journey, and ship-wide wireless Internet access so you can keep in touch… and book your next journey at VantageTravel.com.

A new team of experts, unique to Vantage Deluxe World Travel, are at guests’ service onboard every Vantage ship. In 2014, all river cruises in Europe, Russia and Southeast Asia will feature new travel concierges, an onboard expert free of charge to guests, available to arrange any and all services, from restaurant recommendations and reservations to local theater tickets and even floral deliveries in-room for a special occasion. Vantage Travel Concierges join each ship’s team of seasoned cruise directors, tour directors, and knowledgeable local guides to ensure that every Vantage cruise is a memorable one.
