New York, NY, USA, May 01, 2014 -- Architect Fanyu Lin is collaborating on decoding Fluxus as architecture and is co-curating the exhibition series FLUXUS AS ARCHITECTURE," Universal Structure"," Fluxhouse Limited Edition", “Decoding Fluxus Prefab System”, "The Chinese Unit" at Fluxus Foundation, 454 W 19th St. New York, NY, 10011.

George Maciunas / Fluxus Foundation is dedicated to reasserting the importance of Fluxus founder George Maciunas (1931-1978) with his multidisciplinary knowledge and accomplishment as an artist, designer, art historian, social planner and architect.

Since joining the Fluxus Foundation in August 2013, architect Fanyu Lin has been decoding architectural legacy of Fluxus through researching and developing George Maciunas’ unrealized design, known as Fluxus Prefab System (1965), a prefabricated modular building system designed to construct a realistic solution to meet social and environmental needs of humanity.

As opposed to todays’ marketing context where enormous range of interdisciplinary efforts that defy classification as art, the concept of Fluxus As Architecture keeps expanding the challenges of Fluxus and contemporary art in general. Later in November, 2013, Fanyu Lin began co-curating the exhibition series FLUXUS AS ARCHITECTUR at Fluxus Foundation. The first exhibition Universal Structure positioned Fluxus Prefab System beyond a mere prefabricated prototype, and highlighted its universal wisdom that values the rational reflections on architectural design, manufacturing process and urban development as a whole. The second exhibition Fluxhouse Limited Edition demonstrated the mass-customizability of this modular system that lends itself equally all to cultural, residential, institutional and industrial programs, etc. The third exhibition Decoding Fluxus Prefab System, for the first time, presents to the public a comprehensive decoding of the system from the perspectives of both historical context and technical dissections. The exhibition also underlines this system's increasing relevance in the context of the current socio-economic trends, and argues that it will succeed with the emergence of technological innovations and global awareness of sustainability.

The current exhibition Decoding Fluxus Prefab System is on display from April 4th - May 24th, 2014, and a new publication: Decoding Fluxus Prefab System Portfolio First Edition, accompanied with Certificate of Authenticity by Fluxus Foundation, is available at foundation space, 454 W 19th St. New York, NY, 10011.

Fluxus As Architecture exhibition series' curators are Harry Stendhal, Chairman of Fluxus Foundation, New York, and Fanyu Lin, Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in Columbia University.
