1 November of every year is celebrated as Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava (Chhattisgarh Foundation Day) as on this date in the year 2000 Government of India officially declared it to be an independent state. The President of India gave his consent to Madhya Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2000 on 25 Augustand then Government of India set 1 November 2000 as the day Madhya Pradesh would be divided into Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

“We all are proud of our state. Chhattisgarh had been the center of progress and development of several culture since the Vedic and Mythological times. Chhattisgarh is one of the fastest-developing states in India. This state is a source of electricity and steel for the country, accounting for 15% of the total steel produced as well as a large contributor of coal. Chhattisgarh in the cleanest state in the category of states with more than 100 urban local bodies.
