Illinois (September 8, 2015) Trial Commences In The Case Of Brickhouse v Redstone

Civil rights violations is something that has been thrust into the spotlight recently with all of the different cases being presented against various entities across the country and the high level of media scrutiny that has been placed on them.

Take, for example, the case of Brick house v Red stone that recently commenced in the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Haytham Faraj of the Law Offices of Haytham Faraj is currently representing the plaintiff in this civil rights case who was wrongly arrested in Granite City and then subjected to assault by arresting officer John Red stone. The plaintiff, via Mr. Faraj, is bringing legal action against the Granite City Police Department alleging that the arresting officer, Mr. Red stone, violated his civil rights under section 1983 of the Civil Rights Act. The plaintiff, Mr. Brickhouse, is alleging that Mr. Redstone arrested him as a retaliatory act after Mr. Brickhouse's mother filed a complaint against Mr. Redstone previous to the May 9, 2010 arrest and assault. Mr. Brick house further asserts that during the arrest, Mr. Red stone beat him so severely that he required medical intervention at the time and he continues to suffer from what will likely be a permanent disability as a result of that beating.

If Mr. Brick house is successful is his pursuit of Mr. Red stone, it is likely that he will not only receive monetary compensation for his legal and medical expenses, but will also likely receive monetary compensation representing punitive damages against the Granite City Police Department due to the willful negligence of the civil rights of Mr. Brickhouse by Officer Redstone, which could potentially be a substantial settlement.
