Dr Somdutt Prasad is invited as a faculty at the ACOIN Fourth District CME 2015-16 Session to be held at Pantha Niwas, Balugaon (Chilka Lake), Khurda, Odisha, on 13th December 2015. Dr Prasad will deliver a lecture on "Current Treatment of Diabetic Macular Oedema" in the CME. The theme of the 2015-16 Session is "In search of the problems for proper Community Eye Care in India & adjoining countries: ACOIN Contribution for an effective situation analysis”.
In the current session, ACOIN has planned to organize 100 District CMEs in India and adjoining countries under the National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) with the slogan — Venture the Villages with Vision. Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic Assistants & Eye Hospital Managers from both Government and Non-Government sector will participate in these district level CMEs who in turn will serve the community and perform a door-to-door survey in search of ocular morbidity and the situation analysis of the status of ACOIN's activities under NPCB at the grass root level.
About Dr Somdutt Prasad
Dr Somdutt Prasad is currently a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at AMRI and i4vision. He is adept at the full range of medical and surgical retinal procedures from diagnosis to treatment.
Dr Prasad has an extensive experience in vitrectomy surgeries and before settling in India, he as was treating nearly 1000 patients in the UK each year suffering from retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, venous occlusions and other conditions of the retina.
