[Sydney, 03/07/2017] – Masterflow Solutions, a family-owned Australian provider of customised equipment for the HVAC industry, provides off-the-shelf open expansion tanks for use in closed type air-conditioning circuits. The company also offers tank stands to hold the expansion tanks.

Open Expansion Tanks

The open expansion tanks, also referred to in the industry as Feed & Return tanks are available in 35, 60 100, 200, 300, 500, 650 and 1000litre sizes. They are made from 304-grade stainless steel, equipped with safety trays and lids for proper handling. On the lid is a ‘D’ handle for easy removal and inspection. Female threaded connections are provided on the tank for overflow, drain, inlet and feed or return requirements.

A float valve is supplied loose as part of the kit for installation by an approved plumber. Mains supply into the tank, via the float valve, enable the liquid level to rise and fall enabling the expansion tank to provide it Feed & Return function to the system.

For support, Masterflow Solutions may supply non-metallic support devices to be positioned between the tank and the tray. Clients may also request for wall brackets if necessary.

Tank Stands
Open expansion tanks need additional support as they need to an in an elevated position to function correctly. As a general rule they should be a minimum height of 0.5 metres above the highest point of the system. Masterflow Solutions has durable tank stands that have heavy-duty frames made from galvanised steel.

The decking is made from treated timber, providing the tank with optimum support. Legs may be bolted down if necessary, and wall brackets may be bolted, too, if the wall strength is capable of supporting the tank.
