Announcing the Launch of an Innovative Hockey iQ Training Program for Youth Hockey Players

New online Hockey iQ training curriculum uses a unique reward system to easily teach young players.

October 3, 2016. Announcing the launch of HockeyiQAcademy.com a new innovative Hockey iQ training site that will provide a much-needed Hockey iQ training curriculum program for youth hockey players.Research has shown up to 80% of a player’s on ice effectiveness can be attributed to the mental aspects of hockey. Nearly all of a player’s time, however, is currently spent developing their physical skills. The Hockey iQ curriculum was designed to help allocate training time to the mental aspects. HockeyiQAcademy.com will deliver their curriculum online and seeks to be an essential resource for all youth hockey players.

HockeyiQAcademy.com will offer 7 minute daily video lessons for their subscribed students. Every Friday, students will take a 10question quiz which is based on the week’s video lessons. For every correct answer, a student earns Hockey iQ Bucks which may be used at the online Hockey iQ store to ‘buy’hockey themed prizes. This unique rewards system encourages carefully watching the daily videos and provides immediate gratification to the students for doing so. And aside from cool prizes in the Hockey iQ store, students can also track their progress against local friends as well as other students throughout North America with the Hockey iQ Leaderboards and Achievement Badges. The Achievement Badges will recognize both short and long term activity goals being met.

Hockey Sense, or Hockey iQ, means something different to everyone. The Hockey iQ Academy has done extensive research to develop a curriculum which covers everything from playing without the puck, situational awareness, preparation, mental toughness, hockey jargon, goal setting, hockey history and much more. Students evolve from simply playing the game to becoming Students of the Game which increases their on ice effectiveness and enhances their love of hockey. They’llview daily lessons, take weekly quizzes and exchange points for prizes using their mobile device no matter where they are by accessing www.HockeyiQAcademy.com.

A few quotes from Hockey iQ users:

“Every player will benefit from Hockey iQ training - I believe it’s the missing piece for today’s youth players” Lee Goren, former NHL and NCAA player and current coach.

“My daughter love’s figuring out what prize she’s going to earn next” Tara Mosley, mother of Hockey iQ student

“Being able to access the lessons while my son is on the way to his hockey practice is perfect” Don Monson, father of Hockey IQ student

“They say hockey is 80% mental and these guys do a better job teaching it to young kids than anyone I’ve found” Sam Drews, father of Hockey iQ student

“I’ve observed having a high Hockey iQ helps player’s separate themselves from other skilled players” Brooke White, award winning NCAA player and current youth coach.
