Facebook revealed on Wednesday that they are making three changes to terminate housing, credit-related and employment advertisements on its social networking sites that victimise e based on personal attributes.

The Facebook is thinking about these changes from a long time. The company came under fire last fall, following a ProPublica article that tells it is simple to run housing ads on Facebook that don’t include some racial groups, in violation of the terms of Fair Housing Act. That law restricts people from declining to sell or rent homes to someone based on race. Many disclosed that, including from the Congressional Black Caucus and the American Civil Liberties Union, asked FB to terminate these advertisements service as well as those ads also which use for employment or credit-related products.

They don’t know exactly that how many such ads actually ran on Facebook.

The Manager of privacy and public policy of Facebook said on this Wednesday that according to its policies now no ads can victimise people based on any things like race, sexual orientation, gender, or any medical condition. It also blocks ads that have unsuitable content.

Second, it's placing restrictions on the creation of the advertisement on FB. Users will no more able to run FB's culturally based audience selection tools features to aim ads for housing, employment or other credit products. If someone tries to do so, he or she will get a notification instructing them that the type of targeting isn't permitted. Advertisers must need to confirm that they understand all anti-discrimination policies in Facebook. Finally, Facebook is going to start blocking ads that break these policies. They are using machine learning to detect to content and it also helps them to judge the ads content time-to-time. Users who think their ads are being blocked unfairly can appeal and ask for a review manually.

Facebook said they had discussed this too many of its experts while doing these changes. Many welcome the company's new policies. The modifications will start getting implemented from United States and then will be adored by other countries as per the defined policies in Facebook
