I have been residing in Belgium for years and have never halted discovering great places that, I believe, travelers will enjoy. Each time we discover a new place, it surprises me that are almost no site visitors, and the few that do visit, are often British, German or Dutch. It appears nobody considers of Belgium as a holiday or taking in the sights enjoy, but I do believe this country has a lot to provide especially when trying to appreciate good food and explore different parts way from the normal tourist places.

When it comes to sightseeing, there are beautiful areas that provide a great reason to go to Belgium. Almost every small city in Belgium has something vital that you will fall totally in love with, the gorgeous nature, museums or historic sites, and the provincial domains. It is possible for a tourist to rent an automobile and drive around for instance to the south. The Dunant and Namur parts are famous for the Citadels (forts and fortress ruins), or Waterloo and Bastogne well-known for important fights (Napoleon's beat and world war ii) certainly are a few of the good examples that come to mind. A great excursion, specifically when going to with kids, are the provincial domain which are guarded forests that have walks paths, picnic areas, water sights, and playgrounds. One of my top favorites is "Foret Reve" in Ottignes. Other options consist of going north to the coastline and the slot of Antwerp as well as the Mechelen gallery of Technology (Technopolis). No matter the destination, it is sure that the driving (through small roads) will currently be very pleasant as there are numerous "pit stops" on the way, from artisanal honey manufacturers to abbeys providing guided trips.

Enjoying the meals in Belgium is one more big part of getting to know this nation. There are numerous great, fun, places you will totally in love with which range from fry stands to beautiful tea areas and nice restaurants to fast cafes and marketplaces. Belgium has few fast food chains or cafe stores and generally prides itself in the small "brasseries" (pubs or cafe's that sell lunch and supper choices). Fry stands sell fries (many only available in Belgium) and some other food options like burgers. Waffles, however, are sold through an extremely well-known chain known as Belgaufra, which are found in almost every buying street. A good thing about Belgium's brasseries as well as restaurants is that a lot of have some extremely interesting sites that cover from old industrial facilities to tram stations and they often try to keep the decoration very authentic. Many offer terraces even during winter so people will enjoy the gardens and street sights. An alternative option to eating lunch at the brasseries is eating at one of the numerous markets (which are all around the cities) which offer an original way too totally in love with the Belgian tradition. At the marketplaces, you find simple but delicious food such as hotdogs, chicken bread (like a hotdog with baguette) oysters, and sandwiches.

Conclusion
Belgium is in my view is among the best locations in Europe for traveling, not only because of its range in areas to see, things you can do and meals to try, but also because it remains a non touristic country which allows the people to taste good food and sites still.
