Strategy one: distinguish new optical module and second-hand optical module

The difference between the new optical module and the second-hand optical module: the price of the original optical module is very high. For the second-hand optical module, although its price is relatively low, packet loss often occurs after the use of six months. Strategy five: consider whether the parameters of the optical module meet the needs of equipment

The parameters of the optical module to be considered are: center wavelength, transmission distance and transmission rate.

1.850nm (MM, multi-mode, low cost but short transmission distance, generally only for 500M);

2.1310nm (SM, single-mode, large loss but small dispersion in the transmission process, generally used for transmission within 40KM);

3.1550nm (SM, single-mode, small loss but large dispersion in the transmission process, generally used for long-distance transmission of more than 40KM with the farthest one of 120KM directly without relay);

Strategy six: judge according to the after-sales service life of optical module

Typically, an optical module has a life of five years, and it is difficult to see whether it is good or bad in the first year, and the problem occurs in the second or third year of use.
