Everett, WA (Sept. 06, 2014) - There is one new start-up company working hard to get kids off the street and into the art room. If you haven't heard about H-art yet you are about to. H-art or in other words "Homeless Art" encourages teens to make artwork, and then places the artwork they create onto t-shirts the kids get to keep.

"I was stopped at a light off 88th street and I was always amazed at the art I saw on trains," Jared Stohl Founder of Homeless Art Said. "I was like, 'Wow. What if I could find the kid who drew that and put it on a shirt?”

And so a company was born. H-art plans to develop the most creative and unique shirts and sell them to help raise money for shelters to support special things such as backpacking trips, mural painting, or even basketball camps to give the kids experiences they normally wouldn't get otherwise. Stohl says his program also teaches kids how to invest their time and hard work (their drawings) to accomplish an end motive (their T-shirts). The end goal is that through these experiences the T-shirts provide, it will have a lasting impact on their lives, and furnish bright memories in somewhat dark times.

H-art recently launched their kick-starter video and is offering many rewards at a discount price for backers who are willing to help get H-art off the ground.

Homelessness is a rising issue in our own country due to lack of employment opportunities and broken families. According to Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) there are 30,000 classified homeless students in the state of Washington alone. Funding is being cut by most programs leaving shelters and organizations scratching for ways to feed hungry kids, provide beds at night, and offer programs that can help guide youth down the right path.
