Life is precious. But in the practical world, it often happens that the safety of your life depends on someone else. A perfect example of this is instances when you travel via public transport. Though this seems as something very normal, you actually trust the driver of the particular transport with your life. But how would you know if that person is really trustworthy? A little mistake on his part can cost you your life. This is where DOT drug testing comes in. The same is applicable in case of flights as well. That is why there are several consortiums conducting FAA drug testing to ensure that passenger safety remains guaranteed.

When you drive your own car, you make sure that you and those travelling with you wear seatbelts, do not fall asleep or get drunk while driving. But how can you be sure that the driver of a bus or the pilot of a flight is taking the same safety measure? This thought is bound to scare you. Luckily, the US Department of Transportation, also known as DOT, is bothered by this same thought which is why it has facilitated DOT drug testing. The purpose this program is to prevent all kinds of injuries which are vehicle related. To secure the aviation sector, it has developed FAA drug testing.

What are the things one must know about DOT drug testing? The DOT regulations related to various drug testing programs are highly critical. But unfortunately these rules are not always clear to most. The US Department of Transportation has declared certain performing tasks as safety-sensitive including truck driving and handling or repairing an airplane. All employees working in these fields are subject to the drug tests. For example, the FAA drug testing processes are applicable to flight attendants, flight crews and so on. You can conduct these tests through a good consortium.

Consuming alcohol is not something illegal. However, one cannot be under the influence of it while or just before driving. As per the rules set by the Department of Transportation, one cannot drink alcohol before at least four hours of driving. The development of DOT drug testing has considerably helped to reduce the number of accidents which are directly the results of alcohol and drug use. It is conducted mainly using urine samples and blood sample to test the existence of drugs such as marijuana etc. in the body. The rules further state that all employers must conduct FAA drug testing programs at least once every quarterly at their workplace.

DOT drug testing protects the rights of both the employers and the employees. While the employers must be firm in conducting the FAA drug testing programs and in removing those found to be routine offenders, even they are under certain bounds. An employer must be absolutely unbiased in randomly choosing employees for the test and should keep the test results confidential. Also, an employer must provide employees with educational materials as well as inform them the drug testing policies before the tests begin. Furthermore, the tests should only be conducted by a consortium that is legitimate and authorized to conduct the DOT tests.
DOT drug testing ( http://www.neweradrugtesting.com ) is mandatory for all safe-sensitive tasks. You must conduct FAA drug testing ( http://www.neweradrugtesting.com ) regularly if your work is related to the aviation industry.
