The African Fair Trade Society is a social organization of conscious people, who formed this Society with the sole objective of complete poverty alleviation and upliftment of socially backward and economically weaker/poor section of Women communities of Western African Nations. The Society’s aim is to provide empowerment to the marginalized sections with proper resources and capacity so that the disadvantageous producers can earn sufficient means to support better life to themselves and their communities.

The society, thus amongst various other items, imports the highest quality Shea Butter or Karite Butter from the West African countries. The Shea Butter is sold in the stores where hundreds of Women from economically poor background from Western African countries are employed, who in turn support their families and themselves. Presently The African Fair Trade Society is providing employment to women from the villages of Senegal and Guinea.

To accomplish the dream of complete poverty alleviation is an enormous challenge and therefore, very difficult task to achieve the goal. It requires concerted efforts and active support by the society as whole and zealous activists to give shape to the dream of eradication of poverty and help build sustainable communities in Western African Nations. The African Fair Trade Society is dealing directly with impoverished communities in Western African Countries. They formulate policies that directly support poor people, especially those who are living in rural areas. They are dealing directly with communities so as to channelize funds directly to poor people who need them most.

The African Fair Trade Society undertakes all projects with hard work and faith with the object of building a society that hopes to change the dynamics of the world. Their mission is to help eradicate poverty and help the people of Africa to achieve a higher standard of society that they might not be able to achieve without the support of The African Fair Trade Society.

The proceeds from every purchase of Shea Butter helps support Western African villages. The production of Shea Butter is done in a manner which is environmentally sensitive without compromising the quality. The profit generated by sale of Shea Butter is used to establish micro aid to small and poor communities of Western Africa. The society distributes money and resources without any bias to those who are most in need. Their goal is to improve Health and Education infrastructure of rural villages in Western Africa. Further providing employment to the impoverished communities, they are helping means to provide for their families so that they are dependent on government or foreign assistance.

Besides poverty of the rural people, health is a major challenge for the impoverished people of Western Africa. Malaria is a menace which takes on an average one African child’s life every 30 seconds. Malaria is treatable, but unfortunately there is lack of initiative by any organization to tackle the menace of malaria and as a result almost 3 million lives are lost per year, mostly young children in Africa. The African Fair Trade Society is also contributing to treatment and eradication of Malaria as well.
