Ironing Hanes T-shirts

Ironing a T-shirt is easy when compared to ironing a jacket or a dress with lots of pleats. However, this operation could seem disturbing to someone who has not ironed too many garments in his life.

If washing a T-shirt requires a washing machine and a specific type of cleaner for the clothing you plan to wash, ironing requires an ironing table and an iron. It is not that difficult to iron a shirt; once you start to iron on a regular basis, you will learn what settings you need to use in order to iron properly a specific garment.

Just like in the case of washing machines, ironing Hanes T-shirts and Gildan T-shirts needs to be done within certain limits. As an example, cotton clothing is best washed at temperatures between 40°C and 90°C. When it comes to ironing cotton garments, the temperature of the clothing iron you use should vary between 190°C and 210°C.

However, the aforementioned temperatures should not be strictly used for all the cotton garments you own. Before washing or ironing a piece of clothing, make sure to read its label. Some garments, although made from common materials that are usually washed or ironed at high temperatures, require an extra care.

Ironing Hanes T-shirts or Gildan T-shirts that are made from cotton involves the use of an ironing table that is covered with a clean piece of cloth. Cotton clothing should be ironed when it is semi dry. Thankfully, today you do not need to monitor the drying process of your clothing, because you can always use the water feature of your iron.

And if you do not possess an iron that comes with a water feature, you can use a tip provided by our grandmothers: simply pour some drops of water on your T-shirt to smoothen it and iron it better and faster. However, pay attention to always move the iron box on the surface of the T-shirt, in order to avoid burning the fabric.

Make sure the temperature of the clothing iron is the correct one for the garment you want to iron and start the ironing process. There is no standard for ironing cotton T-shirts, meaning you do not have to iron a T-shirt from left to right or from right to left. Simply move the hot board of your iron on the surface of the T-shirt, to make it smoother, without wrinkles.

After ironing the T-shirt, you can hang it inside a closet with other T-shirts, or fold it nicely to consume less space in the wardrobe. Folding a T-shirt in a professional way is much more difficult than ironing it. That is why it is recommended to iron a shirt just before you plan to wear it, to avoid getting it wrinkled in the closet.
