Tim Bitici spoke about the most stylish person he has ever seen; Tom Ford, “In 2001 I was working with Tom Ford on a fragrance shoot starring supermodel Carolyn Murphy. He walked in (the day I met him) and for the first time I felt someone’s style have a palpable effect. He oozed style. It was a combination of cool and confident, not so much what he wore but how he wore it. Oh, and he smelled like new leather and dark roses. If dark roses smell different than regular roses, that is.”

The Source of His Inspiration

Even though Tim Bitici adores Coco Chanel’s advice, “Never reveal your source of inspiration,” he is happy to share his own with the world. Tim takes his inspiration from literally, everywhere. And, he says, style isn’t something that someone can learn, it’s built-in, like DNA. What Tim finds the most inspiring are city streets, London flea markets and old movies.

New designers Tim enjoys following include Public School and The Row. They are fresh, have their own point of view without mimicking other designers. As far as older designers are concerned, Tim admires Veronique Branquino and Martin Margiela.

Tim Bitici has been in the fashion industry for over ten years, and along the way he has worked with other talents whose careers he has had a hand in launching.
