Kolkata, September 20, 2018 - Lee & Nee Softwares (Export) Ltd. organized their first seminar EduKonnect 2018 in a leisure club The Stadel, situated within the Salt Lake Stadium. The theme of the event was ‘Emerging Education Sector and the Role of Automation’. It began with the greeting of our honourable guests Swami Atmapriyananda (Vice-Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute), Mr. Aninda Chatterjee (Managing Director and Executive Director Finance at West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited), Mr. Prabir Kumar Das (Member Secretary of West Bengal State Council of Higher Education) and the CEO of Lee & Nee, Mr. Mahesh Gupta. The event was followed by a Lamp Lighting Ceremony with our respected guests.

The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Mahesh Gupta on the role and importance of technology in the education sector. The evening’s Chief Guest Speaker Swami Atmapriyananda discussed the topic ‘Gap between Academia and Industry’ during which he pointed out that knowledge should go hand-in-hand with technology and its practical application. He also said that we should be the masters of technology and not the slaves of it and try to use it for human welfare too. Our special guest Mr. Prabir Kumar Das spoke on ‘Education Industry in Eastern India in the Global Landscape’ in which he stressed that our conventional education system should take the help of technology. Implementation of ERP systems has become an essential part in today’s education business. Mr. Aninda Chatterjee, our guest of honour discussed ‘Merging of Technology with Education’ and how it is enabling the easy accessibility of the whole education system. How technology has paved a way to acquire knowledge and education, anytime and anywhere.

The event session was then followed by a panel discussion on the event theme topic. Eminent panellists coming from diverse professional fields spoke about it. The whole discussion was moderated by Mr. Nirupam Chaudhuri (Regional Director (East), NASSCOM & Sector Committee - IT & Electronics, Govt. of WB). Our panellists were Swami Dhyanagamyananda, (Computer Science HOD of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute), Mr. Prodip Mukhopadhyay (CEO & Whole Time Director, Webel Informatics Ltd), Mr. Prateek Agrawal (Director of Ivy Professional School -Ivy Knowledge Services Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Sukla Hazra (Principal of East Calcutta Girls College, Kolkata) and Mr. Bhupendra (Ben) Sethia (Chairman of JITO Australia, Director of Edcon, Australia Global Education Consulting).
All our guests and panellists were presented with company mementos and ‘uttoriyos’. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya, followed by high tea and product demonstration.
