LARCIANO (PT), Italy – 18th April 2025 – Casa Studio Galleria Cum Venio in Larciano exhibits "The child with the dust blanket", one of a kind handmade artist's book by Filippo Biagioli, on the occasion of the art exhibition dedicated to Filippo Biagioli, Filippo Basetti and Andrea Mattiello organized by Sofia Ancillotti and open until 11th May;
The touching fable recounts the story of a child who embarks on life protected by a dust blanket, that is the metaphor of the perceptual limitations which often forbid us from understanding the real beauty around us. Growing, the main character only trusts in the clouded sight, losing the ability of listening to the other senses which perceive the astonishment of the world. Only the death and the purifying rain reveal the reality which his senses had always realized: Nature, Love, Universe.
By this poetic wave, Biagioli introduces the concept of "Primary Art", that is described as the expression of the man's inner beauty, able to dissolve the "dust" which clouds our perception. The artist suggests that the art is there, ready to talk to everyone who moves close with an open mind and senses.

“...for a long time now I have searched for a simple and intuitive description about the way of explaining Primary Art. Then I remembered that the fables are the simplest way to explain the morals to the children... So I wrote one...”

"The child with the dust blanket" is not only a story but also a real artwork. In the digital archive of Peggy Guggenheim Collection's Library it has been saved and classified with the complete title: *The child with the dust blanket : [*fable about the primary art] / by Filippo Biagioli; it was realized by hand by the artist and it is composed of [20] papers 12,5x9 cm and it includes 14 drawings and 19 handwritten plates, decorated with an handmade geometric graphic. The handcrafted work is evident in the details: 11 sewn bifolium decorated with capitals, the endpaper on plywood and the spine of the book made of red velvet. The cover has a complex geometric painting with the sign "Venezia" (letter N is upside down).
