Generations and generations of people have been using aloe vera in many forms for a variety of reasons. From mouth to mouth went to the official recordings, aloe vera, for both topical and ingested uses, has existed since the beginning of time.

It is not surprising that the oldest registered uses of aloe vera were by the Egyptians. The aloe vera plants are clearly represented in their hieroglyphics. They thought so much about this plant that it earned the nickname "Immortality Plant". Even then, people knew the healing properties of this plant.

Of course, the most beautiful queens that ever existed in Egyptian history, Nefertiti and Cleopatra, were great at using aloe vera as part of their daily beauty regimes. And Egypt is just a country with a recorded history to use this miraculous plant! The ancient history of China also points to the extensive use of aloe vera to relieve burns and wounds, as well as to reduce fever.

The Aloe vera plant contains more than 200 natural biological components that include vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, polysaccharides and minerals that promote the absorption of nutrients, digestive health, a healthy immune system and a reduction of nitrates. Although ancient civilizations did not have the kind of technology we have today to scientifically determine these components, they recognized the broad benefits of using and ingesting aloe vera, and it is likely that they maintained them well throughout their lives.
