Youth for Privacy to Host Data Values Bootcamp Youth for Privacy, a youth-led and youth-centered group advocating for privacy, will host a Data Values Bootcamp for young changemakers from July 31 - August 2, 2023.

New York, NY – Youth for Privacy, a youth-led and youth-centered group advocating for privacy, will host a Data Values Bootcamp for young changemakers from July 31 - August 2, 2023. The bootcamp aims to provide young people with the tools and skills they need to create data protection rules and compacts within their communities.



The bootcamp will be led by experts in data privacy and policy, and will cover topics such as:

The basics of dataprivacy
Data protection laws andregulations
How to create data protection rules andcompacts
How to advocate for data privacy in yourcommunity
The bootcamp is open to young people ages 16-30 from around the world.



“We believe that young people are essential to building a fair data future, and we are excited to offer this bootcamp to those who are passionate about data privacy,” said Zino Haro, a founding member of Youth for Privacy. “We believe that young people have a powerful voice, and we want to empower them with the knowledge to voice their interests and those of their communities.”



The Data Values Bootcamp is co-hosted by the Data Values Project, a global movement sparking dialogue and catalyzing action to ensure a fair data future for all. Together with 350 people across 63 countries, the Data Values Project has created a shared vision and manifesto for change on

data values.



In addition to the Data Values Bootcamp, Youth for Privacy has accomplished a number of other significant milestones in the past year. These include: hosting workshops in Seoul, New York, San Jose (California), San Jose (Costa Rica), Stockholm, Paris, and Buenos Aires, with plans to host sessions in Uruguay; and developing workshops as part of an initiative by the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs.
