The copper compounds are generally green and blue.

Like copper oxalate, it is green. The basic copper carbonate is blue. Under the corrosion of the crystalline material of the stone, these colored copper compounds will naturally penetrate into the inside of the stone next to the gap, and the phenomenon of green and black will appear over time. In addition, copper compounds are not like ordinary organic pigment pollution that can be decomposed and taken out of the stone, so it is difficult to clean. In addition, long-term exposure to acidic substances will corrode the copper strip itself and lose its luster.

How to avoid it?

First Protect the stone

The stone inlaid with copper bars must be well protected. Especially marble with a high water absorption rate requires the highest level of protective treatment. Even using high-quality penetrating protective agents or fluorine protective agents, do multiple brushing treatments. The number of passes should be increased at the gap.

Second Carefully handle after grinding

When the ground is refurbished, if the copper strip can be ground and it has been ground. Then the fine copper particles that are ground out will stay in the areas on both sides of the gap. Therefore, it is necessary to use a high-power pumping machine along the ground copper strips to pump several times to thoroughly clean the water slurry. This will suck away the tiny copper particles that we can or cannot see. It can prevent or mitigate the subsequent complex changes.

Third Use sealing glaze instead of crystal for polishing

Because the crystallization technology itself is built on the basis of "acid etching". After years of development of crystallization technology, products of various brands have emerged, using different ingredients, but the basic principles are the same. Therefore, there is no crystalline material that does not contain acidic components. In other words, if the marble floor inlaid with copper strips is polished with crystallization technology, there will always be a hidden danger of copper compound pollution.

Therefore, this kind of ground should be polished with sealing technology. The principle of the glaze sealing technology is to apply the silicon dioxide (SiO2) component extracted from the natural quartz ore to the surface of the stone. The crystallization technology is a chemical effect, and the glaze sealing technology is a physical application. Therefore, there will be no impact on the copper itself. It will also produce complex chemical changes. It can avoid the phenomenon of green and black caused by copper bars.
