We make youngsters business ready by teaching entrepreneurship as an essential life skill, nurturing business ideas and designing it’s roadmap. We have come up with this new initiative called 'Jumpstart 2019' - A hunt for India's Best Teenpreneur.

IS BUSINESS ONLY FOR ADULTS?

IT’S TIME TO PREPARE THE NEXT GENERATION TO BE JOB GIVERS AND NOT JOB TAKERS

“You are never too young to start an empire & you are never too old to start a new dream – Asa Hutchinson”

From YouTube influencers to bloggers to coding rock stars, kids are now constantly changing the stereotype. Not only is the young mind more creative, it is more acceptable of ideas. Kids are dreamers, they are achievers, they are energetic, and have the courage to try new things. For some kids, the spirit of entrepreneurship catches on at an early age. And today, there are so many kid entrepreneurs changing the business landscape than ever before.

The Internet is flooded with incredible success stories of young entrepreneurs internationally who have achieved the extraordinary and are building successful businesses even when they haven’t completed middle school. One of such story is that of Moziah Bridges who first appeared on Shark Tank for his funky bow-tie company. Now in high school, Bridges started Mo's Bows in the comfort of his grandmother's kitchen. By the age of 9, he developed an online business. Today, his ties are sold in stores across the United States and he has become a fashion icon.
There are so many other inspiring stories of kids like Robert Nay - founder of Nay Games, Leanna Archer - Leanna’s Essentials, Erik Fingman - Botangle, Lily Born - The Kangaroo Cups, Mikaila Umer - BeeSweet Lemonade, Neha Gupta - Empower Orphans and the list goes on.

Closer to home, we have two tech savvy brothers Shravan and Sanjay Kumaran from Chennai, who are the youngest app developers and CEOs in India. They have set up an app developing company called “GoDimensions” at the age of 10 and 12. They have been running this company since 2012 and their apps have witnessed more than 10,000 downloads across the world. The sibling duo are an inspiration and have made our country proud at an international level. But, surely there is a lot more talent unexplored here.

Fortune’s 18 under 18 list of the most innovative and ambitious teens is a proof of the potential kids have and how age is no limit to start a business. Internationally, multiple platforms like Shark Tank, Biz kids, Kickstarter etc. have been providing budding talent with the support that they need to build thriving businesses. Young Entrepreneur Studio (YES) is an attempt to provide kids and youth of India similar opportunities.

One of the many big challenges that any young entrepreneur faces is the lack of guidance. How do they turn any idea from a dream to reality when there are barely any opportunities available to them? Entrepreneurship in India is set to gain major boosts in the coming years. The EY Global Job Creation and Youth Entrepreneurship Survey 2015 said that the team surveyed 2800 young people and found that 86% of India's youth want to run their own business. Gone are days when people were graduating to get jobs, now they are creating jobs. Entrepreneurial ambition among the workforce is highest in India. According to the Randstad Work monitor survey, 83% of existing workforce in India would like to be an entrepreneur, which is higher than a global average of 53%.

The speedy growth of the entrepreneurial scenario of India only enhances this wave further. It’s clear that the future belongs to entrepreneurs, which is why we need to help, inspire, mentor, and empower kids to think like early entrepreneurs and prepare them for the future.

Young Entrepreneur Studio (YES) has taken up this responsibility of helping kids reach their fullest potential. YES works towards making kids under 20 business ready by teaching entrepreneurship as an essential life skill, nurturing business ideas and designing it’s roadmap.

The idea is to encourage young minds by providing them with multiple opportunities in the form of contests, incubation and funding support, networking opportunities, training workshops in schools and various other programs designed solely for the purpose of providing them with right direction. “Entrepreneurship is not just about doing business and making money, entrepreneurship is a mindset. Entrepreneurship fosters independent and positive thinking, helps students to identify opportunities to work on their own skills, and encourages students to have faith in themselves and in their abilities. Furthermore, it shows students how important it is to define their goals, to take responsibility, to be creative, to persevere until they succeed, and much more. In short entrepreneurship is a life skill that everyone must have in order to excel in his or her career.” says Tabassum Modi, serial entrepreneur & Founder – Young Entrepreneur Studio.
