Solution Of Dent In Household Product Mould

Because dents should be inconspicuous, if the appearance is not affected, they are deliberately processed into corrosive patterns on the mold, such as striations and granules.

Causes of dents in Household Product Mould:

1. The thickness of each part of the product is different

2. The internal pressure of the mold is insufficient

3. Insufficient cooling of mold

4. Deformation due to insufficient cooling time

In the process of producing products, dents are the most frequent undesirable phenomena. When the plastic injected into the household product mould is cooled, it shrinks in volume. The early cooling part, that is, the surface hardens first, and bubbles will be generated inside. The so-called dents mean that the slow cooling part produces a conspicuous concave surface in the direction of bubble contraction.

Materials with large shrinkage are also prone to dents. When changing molding conditions to eliminate dents, the setting conditions should be set in the direction of small shrinkage. That is, the mold temperature and barrel temperature decrease, and the injection pressure increases, but it should be noted that residual internal stress may be caused.

Because dents should be inconspicuous, if the appearance is not affected, they are deliberately processed into corrosive patterns on the mold, such as striations and granules. In addition, if the molding material is HIPS, it is also effective to reduce the finish by lowering the mold temperature. However, once dents occur in these methods, it is difficult to repair polished products.

Workaround:

Immediate: increase the injection pressure, prolong the injection holding time, reduce the barrel temperature and mold temperature, and force cooling at the place where dents occur.

Short-term: mending the upper edge at the dent. When there is a narrow place on the material side where the dent is generated, make this part thick.

Long-term: the difference in thickness of designed products should be completely avoided. Tendons that are prone to dents should be as short as possible.
