Winson Tang MD is instrumental in the development of some of the most important innovations in the medical field. As the vice president of clinical research at Sangamo Bioscience in Richmond, California, he oversees the development of many new drugs. His career in medical science has spanned over thirty years, and in that time he has developed extensive experience working with proteins, small molecules, anti-sense oligonucleotides, and gene and cell therapy. He has worked in a variety of different therapeutic areas in the medical industry, including oncology, immunology, and virology, just to name a few. Prior to working for Sangamo, he worked for a variety of biotechnology companies, both in California and in the Netherlands and Switzerland. He has designed many drug trials, been published over thirty times for his work, and has won awards for his contributions to the medical field.

Winson Tang MD was born in Hong Kong, but was raised in Garden City, New York. He received his Bachelorsand Masters of Science from the prestigious Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. During his time at Tufts, he graduated magna cum laude and was also a varsity letterman on the lacrosse team. He then moved back to New York to receive his MD degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. After graduating from medical school, he completed extensive postgraduate education at a number of prestigious universities. These include the Scripps Research Institute and the University of California, San Diego, both located in the San Diego area, and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
