This passion came in to Phil by the time he spent with his mother and grandmother.  Just after passing high school, Phil started working with a construction company and captured his position. From there, he gained knowledge for opening his own construction company. He did not stop his passion of cooking and continued his love for cooking in his spare time. But within few years his construction business started degrading. After that Phil started his own catering company to fulfil his subsidiary dream of professional cooking. While serving his food to large number of people, Phil created another love for grilling. He tried several barbecue recipes.He then started selling his customers few signature dishes like carribbean rum shrimp and hi brow chicken. Public was very much influenced with food of Phil. It inspired Phil to enter in BBQ competitions. Phil the Grill then became member of Kansas City BBQ Society and now enters in competitions that occur in Unites States. Phil won several awards and championships. Awards won by Phil in year 2016 are – second place Pork World series of BBQ American Royal and first place Ribs Hot Q’s & Cold Brews Championship BBQ. He got first place in Brisket Sam’s Club- Reno NV and second place in Chicken Sam’s Club – Reno NV. In year 2014, in Tucson AZ Sam’s Club State Championship, he got tenth place in overall, second place in Ribs and sixth place in Brisket.
