FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEHaving access to life-saving health care in Honduras is not as easy as it seems. In a bid to help the people of Honduras, Global Brigades takes the bid to launch fundraiser campaign on Fundly to help provide life-saving health care. Being an international non-profit, Wayne State University Chapter of Global Brigades seeks to offer help to rural communities to prevent common illnesses through in-home infrastructural development, community leader training, and health education as well. With the goal of empowering the communities to meet their health and economic goals, Global Brigades aims to deliver integrated health and economic programs. Achievement of the goal of raising $10,000 will help the volunteers of the University to cover purchase of life-saving medications for patients, medical supplies, public health building supplies as well as transportation costs. One can donate anywhere from $1 to $ 3200 and that donation will help the volunteers to offer a better health treatment to the people of Honduras which is known as one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere with many of the patients’ families earning less than $1 per capita per day.One of the spokesperson comments, “It's a beautiful and amazing job, what you do with these communities is just priceless”, while other goes on, “Good Luck with your Campaign.” With such huge support and well wishes, it is immensely feasible for the volunteers to help the communities in Honduras to have life-saving medical care and the campaign waits for benevolent support of all the people out there.While the rural communities are often faced with poor road infrastructure making hospital access a barrier, the volunteers of Golden Brigades have transitioned from 3 communities, establishing local community-owned banks, a community-wide treated water system, resident community health workers and in-home public health infrastructure in 2014.
